National Research Software Day 2025

The National Research Software Day, taking place on November 25th at Lijm & Cultuur in Delft, will welcome researchers, policymakers, research software engineers and community leaders.
The three Thematic Digital Competence Centres will be present at a booth in the exhibition area, and there's an exciting opportunity to win up to €2000 and support of the TDCC-NES team to organise a follow-up event after the un-conference session in the afternoon. This funding helps to turn the day's ideas into concrete action.
The programme is designed to spark both inspiration and action. The morning features a keynote talk and a range of (interactive) parallel sessions to explore new ideas. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to collaboration and implementation, with a second keynote talk and unconference sessions that encourage active participation.
Three TDCC-NES projects will be presented:
- Burcu Beygu "Financing Sustainable Research Software: Insights and Opportunities for RSEs" from the TDCC-NES project Financing Sustainable Research Software.
- Serkan Girgin and Carlos Martinez Ortiz: "Auditing and improving research software development practices with Code Auditor", one of the deliverables from the TDCC-NES project "Best practices for sustainable software".
- Aleks Wilczynska: "Brewing Collaboration: Building a Network of Programming CAFEs" connected with the TDCC-NES project The CAFÉ Method.
A significant part of the programme is reserved for sessions led by community members, which is a great opportunity to share ideas and start a new collaboration.
