LDCC's

The Digital Competence Centres in Universities, NWOi research institutes and the DCC PO aim to support their researchers in FAIR data handling. All DCC's are slightly different organised but in general there is a generic support unit at the institutional level with data stewards and/or software engineers positioned in the faculties or even in the chair groups of the university. The DCC's are the central point for all questions about data.

The focus of the support work is on making data management plans, support for privacy and legal issues, archiving and registration of research data (as output of the research). Furthermore there is support on data storage, data sharing and software engineering.

In 2020 when NWO first announced the call for Local DCC's, the LCRDM organised the Implementation Network DCC NL. In this Network the universities and other involved institutes organised themselves in preparing the call documents and after the proposals had been submitted the IN DCC NL is there to exchange knowledge and jointly develop new expertise.
