Looking back: Project Idea Generator of TDCC-SSH

On 2 April 2025, we hosted the "Project Idea Generator" unconference at the Trippenhuis in Amsterdam. This half-day event aimed to stimulate collaborative project development for the upcoming NWO TDCC Call 2025. The event brought together researchers and research data specialists to develop ideas aimed at improving research data and software in the social sciences and humanities.

Ricarda Braukmann (DANS) and Lieke de Boer (Netherlands eSience Centre) skillfully facilitated the unconference, which was well suited to fostering collaboration and building on each other's ideas. Participants proposed their topic in one-minute pitches, followed by a vote by the audience on ideas that resonated with their interests/work. The afternoon consisted of 8 breakout sessions of 'idea generation rounds,' where participants discussed and developed their ideas further and gave input to eachother.

The event closed with a brief summary of each breakout session and an answer to the question: What does your project need to develop? This encouraged people to network and find connections that could complement and improve their ideas ahead of submitting them to us as Expressions of Interest.

The resonance of the attendees was very positive and we want to thank everyone once again for the active participation during the afternoon.

We look forward to receiving all the project ideas. If you have an idea that you would like to submit, please complete the Expression of Interest form before 24 April 2025, 14:00 CEST.
