Natural & Engineering Sciences

The Thematic Digital Competence Centre (TDCC) for the Natural & Engineering Sciences (NES) helps domain stakeholders to explore their digital competency challenges and to find solutions through connection and collaboration.
This contributes to improved research efficiency and effectiveness, and reduces fragmentation and repetition across the domain.
The TDCC-NES is a network organisation that connects researchers, infrastructure providers, local (institutional) DCC’s and other research support experts, knowledge and expertise networks, as well as other strategic initiatives within the natural and engineering sciences domain. Together the TDCC-NES facilitates the formation of strategies to address digital competency challenges, through alignment, training, application of tools, and adaption of infrastructure.
Explore how the work of the TDCC-NES is organised through the current work programme, the original roadmap, the governance structure, our ontology engineer service (which helps research teams with metadata alignment and ontology implementation), and the projects:

The TDCC-NES is an investment by NWO as part of the implementation plan for investments in digital research infrastructure in the Netherlands. It is also supported in-kind by its stakeholders and is hosted in the 4TU.ResearchData team at TU Delft. Funding supports a small staff office, network activities, and an annual project funding call.
