Three Thematic Digital Competence Centres (TDCCs) are joining forces to host a local Dutch hub for the upcoming Turing Way Book Dash.
The Turing Way is an open, community-led guide to reproducible, ethical and collaborative data-driven research. Twice a year, the community comes together in a “Book Dash” – a collaborative writing and co-creation event where contributors develop new chapters, edit and review existing ones, and help improve accessibility, usability, and inclusivity of the project.
The Book Dash is an online event and it's possible to participate from anywhere in the world. Each of the four days is divided into 2,5 hour slots and participants choose a slot for each day that works best for them. The collaborative work during these timeslots is facilitated by the Turing Way community members. It is a structure that ensures that all participants can make meaningful contributions and have opportunities to brainstorm or get help if needed. In order to participate in the Book Dash, fill in the form by 10 October.
A local hub makes it possible to join the global Book Dash together, in person. This is a great opportunity to:
- Contribute to an international, open-source community improving practices in research.
- Share your work though a well-known and well-cited resource and get acknowledged for your efforts
- Meet colleagues across the TDCCs and beyond who share an interest in open science and reproducibility.
- Take part in collaborative sessions and enjoying the energy of working side by side.
If you are interested in participating in the local Dutch hub, send an email to Lena e.karvovskaya@tudelft.nl
You don’t need to be experienced GitHub user to join the Book Dash. The Turing Way community provides support for everyone interested in contributing. The project welcomes a wide variety of contributions, including editing, writing, sharing case studies, improving accessibility, creating illustrations, or helping with communication.
Whether you’re new to The Turing Way or a returning contributor, this is a great opportunity to add your work to this international project while connecting with peers locally.
