Outputs
Expected deliverables
- WP1:
- A concise overview of key learning resources (The Turing Way, The Carpentries Curricula, Code Refinery Curriculum)
- Examples of software from selected NES domains (e.g. Geosciences) and of different characteristics (e.g. Simulation code) that follow best practices
- Completed Software Management Plans for those examples
WP2:
- Open-source research software templates based on the guidance
- Open-source conformity testing tool for the guidance
WP3:
- The 4TU.ResearchData software will provide an API to allow the Research Software Directory to harvest metadata of software from 4TU.ResearchData
- The Research Software Directory will be extended to harvest metadata of software archived in 4TU.ResearchData. This metadata exchange can be initiated both by the Research Software Directory (for openly shared software) or by 4TU.ResearchData (for closed software)
- The Research Software Directory will be extended to present the domain specific collection of software for the NES community
- 4TU.ResearchData will extend its metadata capturing for software deposited at 4TU.ResearchData to align with the metadata of the Research Software Directory
- The GitLab instance of UL will be integrated with 4TU.ResearchData to showcase the chain from developing/hosting code, publishing code to showcasing it in the Research Software Directory
WP4:
- Train the Trainer workshop introducing trainers and training coordinators to the resources developed in this project
- Training workshop focused on the resources developed in this project, aimed at researchers
- Adaptation of existing training provided by project partners in the NES domain, based on the project results
- Three “Bring Your Own Code” sessions
- Blogpost on project results, lessons learned and recommendations for next steps, shared via different blog channels
