How It Works

The TDCC LSH FAIR fellowship brings together four key stakeholder groups working in partnership:

Fellows

Data stewards, researchers, and data specialists from across the Netherlands who bring real-world use cases and a commitment to advancing FAIR practices. Each fellow dedicates 0.2 FTE over one year to address a specific FAIR implementation challenge relevant to their organization while contributing to national-level solutions.

Organizations

Dutch universities and UMCs that support their fellows by providing dedicated time and infrastructure. Organizations receive financial compensation (0.2 FTE for one year) to enable fellows to participate fully in the programme. This investment benefits the entire organization through enhanced FAIR data capabilities.

Coaches

Leading FAIR data experts from diverse LSH specializations, including biodiversity, microbial data, bioimaging, genomics, rare diseases, medical informatics, and plant phenotyping. All coaches have extensive track records in data generation, FAIRification, and data handling, and are connected to major national infrastructures (ARISE, UNLOCK, Health-RI, NL-bioimaging, NEMI, X-omics, NPEC). Coaches provide personalized guidance matched to each fellow's specific use case and organizational context.

TDCC-LSH Project Team

The coordinating team (Carla Strubbia, Fieke Schoots, Celia van Gelder) facilitates the programme, delivers the training curriculum, connects stakeholders, and ensures knowledge sharing across the fellowship community and beyond.
