Why It Matters

Despite widespread recognition of FAIR principles, many professionals struggle with practical implementation. Technical barriers, organizational constraints, and limited time create significant challenges. The TDCC-LSH FAIR Fellowship Programme addresses these obstacles by providing:

Three Core Objectives:

1. Enhancing Digital Competencies – Building FAIR data stewardship skills across Dutch Health & Life Sciences research organizations
   
2. Developing Collaborative Solutions – Creating tools, resources, and guidelines for FAIR implementation that benefit the entire LSH community
   
3. Strengthening Expert Networks – Expanding cross-domain collaboration and building lasting connections among FAIR LSH experts
   

This programme directly addresses the three highest-priority challenges identified by the LSH community in the TDCC-LSH roadmap:

• Learning network of domain-specific data stewards
• LSH-specific FAIR implementation guidelines
• Training and capacity building for FAIR-based data stewardship

The knowledge, tools, and best practices developed through this programme will be openly shared, benefiting not only individual researchers and institutions but the entire research community.
