Read the blog post above about FAIR4ChemNL, the first event funded by this project in June 2024. This successful event led to an ongoing collaboration being initiated between NFDI4Cat in Germany and a new FAIR4ChemNL project team in the Netherlands, which successfully received funding during the 2024 Challenge Project call. The white paper (below), published in early 2025 is a summary of the event and the areas in which the two project teams will work.
Funding also supported the project collaboration event, co-hosted with the Governing Board meeting in Utrecht, also in June 2024. This event enabled new stakeholders to learn about the TDCC projects, and to agree on collaboration roles within one of the projects. The project in question was strengthened by these links.
Approval from NWO was granted to extend the project, after the TDCC-NES Community Coordinator resigned and a new staff member was recruited during the second half of 2024.
During 2025, the organisation of events got going again. Previous TDCC-NES project leads were invited to the large "Open and FAIR in NES" event in May 2025, and shared advice and tips with new project teams. During the same event, there was also a successful matchmaking workshop with one participant remarking: "it was an interesting and inspiring event, and I'm happy to inform you that I'm going to be joining one of the project teams".
During the second year of the project, the planned Col-Lab Retreat will welcome people from across the natural and engineering sciences to discuss common challenges and shared interests, and a joint TDCC event is in discussion for 2026.
